I'm Going 2 Bed Now
I'm not done with my essay, but I'm going to bed. hahah!

Smarter Mouse equals Smarter Man
Have you ever been in the position where you didn’t know something and you just wanted to be smarter? In the movie and book, Flowers for Algernon written by Daniel Keyes, Charlie Gordon is given the chance to become more intelligent. The movie and the original story were somewhat different. I think they missed some important parts from the book that they didn’t put into the movie. Even thought it wasn’t completely how I expected it to be it was still an enjoyable film.
In the movie and book, Flowers for Algernon, Charlie Gordon, a mentally challenged man, yearns to be smarter. When Charlie is given the opportunity to become more intelligent, through an operation, he is very motivated to get involved with the research. Doing the same experiment as Charlie is Algernon. Algernon is a lab mouse, and is also one of Charlie’s friends. Through his journey he meets his mom that abandoned him, he falls in love with his teacher Ms. Kinnian, and he works at a bread factory with his mean friends. All Charlie wanted was to feel excepted.
The movie and the story have the same plot, however some of the details are different. For example, in the story Charlie never met his mother, then in the movie he did. Also in the movie there were many flashbacks to a scene of his childhood that involved a locket. The short story tells nothing about this, instead it talks about a mentally retard boy that Charlie encounters in a restaurant. The film left out some important characters such as Dr. Nemur and Mrs. Flynn.
Matthew Modine and Kelli Williams star as Charlie and Ms. Kinnian. I believe that the actors did just an okay job playing their characters. I expected Charlie to be a little more challenged in the beginning and more advanced in the middle.
